CLAHRC BITEs

BITEs (which stands for Brokering Innovation Through Evidence) are small A5 double-sided fliers, also available to download as PDFs, which aim to break down CLAHRC research and to provide an accessible overview of our work.

These summaries highlight the most important findings and implications from published research and projects, providing links and references for more in-depth information and further reading for the relevant audience.

The concept was originally developed by CLAHRC for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, in response a request from NHS staff for ‘need to know’ information about up-to-date health research. PenCLAHRC’s five BITEs (which can be downloaded below) will form part of a national library that will span the work of the nine NIHR CLAHRC initiatives.

1 - Bringing Tranexamic Acid (TXA) Into Practice Safely, Quickly and Efficiently

2 - Operational Research Seeks Benefit for Stroke Victims

3 - Differences Between Arms in Blood Pressure Readings Indicate Likelihood of Vascular Risk and Death

4 - Research Indicates Savings Could be Made in Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Costs

5 - Can vitamin D supplements be used to prevent cognitive decline and dementia in older adults?
