On these pages you will find details about:
PenCLAHRC is governed by a Management Board chaired by the Dean of Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry which includes representatives from all sixteen partners in the collaboration. The Board provides reports for information to the Board of NHS South West SHA and PCMD’s Joint Strategy Board. PenCLAHRC is managed by a Director accountable to the Management Board.
The Board also reports to the South West Peninsula Clinical Research Committee, which submitted the original bid as an already existing and successful example of strong joint working in the management and development of research activity between the College and its local NHS partners, and the PCMD Research Committee whose membership have recently merged.
The Director has formed a small Executive Group with the research/implementation theme leaders, clinical locality leads and management leads for PPI, Evaluation and Improvement. This group is tasked with overseeing day to day management issues and ensuring good communication and project integration.
Each PenCLAHRC project has a separate project team which reports to the Executive Group. Each team is led by an academic lead, supported by a clinical lead and a project facilitator. A report from each team is made to each meeting of the PenCLAHRC Executive Group, with one member taking overall responsibility for each project.
A patient and carer led advisory group has also been established whose role is to ensure that adequate account is taken of the need for involvement in all aspects of PenCLAHRC’s work. As well as reporting to the Executive Group. it also has representation on PenCLAHRC’s Management Board and on the Stakeholder Prioritisation group which determines priority projects.
