A life with no Windows. A 12 month exploration into living in an Open Science world, outside of the Intellectual Property kingdom

Dr Mike Allen
Senior Modeller, PenCHORD

How free are you to share what you work on? How free are others to use what you have learned? How much, in academia, do we really freely share what we learn with wider society?

Free Open Source Software (FOSS) is a movement that advocates free sharing of knowledge. In this short seminar, Mike Allen will talk about his experience using Free Open Source Software (FOSS) to try to make his work freely available to others - from data, to software, to research, to publication. This will be beneficial to all staff, so please attend if you can.
