The University of Exeter Medical School are looking to recruit an Engagement, Research Information and Communications Manager (maternity cover) within PenCLAHRC.

The post-holder will be responsible for the management and dissemination of research information relating to PenCLAHRC's outputs.

Working alongside the PenCLAHRC Operations and Finance Manager, they will be a pivotal member of the PenCLAHRC Executive Team and will play a lead role in communicating and disseminating the CLAHRC's outputs in order to firmly establish it as a centre of applied health research excellence within the South West Peninsula's University and healthcare settings.  They will have line management and oversight responsibility of other colleagues...

Engaging Games and Making Sense of Fairy Tales

All the fun of the (evidence-based) fair came to PenCLAHRC’s Veysey Building recently for an Engaging Games morning. This included an evidence-based fairy tale writing competition and a collection of research-based games such as ‘Be There Dragons’, an activity intended to demonstrate that more diagnostic testing does not automatically lead to more certainty.

These games have been designed by Dr Kath Maguire from PenCLAHRC's Patient and Public Involvement Team to help translate the concepts of evidence-based medicine into fun and practical learning resources for members of the public and clinicians alike.
